Is It Wrong to Not Be Sorry Phelps Is Dead?
I’n fact - I am schadenfreude he is dead. Just as I was when Falwell died. These people spend their time, energy, and talents impugning, persecuting, discriminating against, and attempting to destroy the wellbeing and self actualization of women, GLTBI people, Muslims, Jews, and those who stand up for them, et. al.
It is not wrong to feel relief and solace in the fact that the world is a better place without these horrible people.
I do not weep for them - nor should you.
However, it would be both moral and ethical to spend time making sure we never forget how bad a legacy these people left us. Destroying the character of bad men (or women) who seek to destroy others for nothing other than their sexuality or gender, is the right thing to do,
Burn in hell Phelps, but then, we wont get that lucky, because according to Phelps, that is where the gays are having a party…
I am happy there is one less bigot to contend with….. and I am not sorry for that.
